The Committee’s remit
1. To co-ordinate SCA activity and receive reports from SCA projects
2. To promote SCA activity to students and to promote the department within the University and local community
3. To promote student interaction with the local community, liaising with representatives from local organizations as appropriate
The SCA Committee is responsible for the department’s budget as set by Union Management Board (UMB) and for other funds donated to the department by the University or other external sources.
The SCA Committee works alongside the SCA Co-ordinator. The SCA Co-ordinator works full time, and part of their duties are: to set up working partnerships with local organisations; visit projects to ensure they have good working practices; to support and encourage students volunteering in the community; offer training and resources.

As part of the Students’ Union, SCA is directed by students, with ongoing support provided by staff. It belongs to you as members of the Students' Union, so why not become part of the committee and help decide the direction SCA will take in the future?
