October 2008

Wednesday 1st October - Bunfight!

Your chance to find out a bit more about SCA and the volunteering opportunities available.  The committee will be on the concourse between 10am-3pm handing out SCA goodie packs including pencils, badges, keyrings and beer mats, so make sure you get yours!

Thursday 2nd October  - Volunteering Fair

The Volunteering Fair is an all-day event dedicated to volunteering opportunities in the local area.  The SCA committee will be in attendance, as well as a range of internal and external organisations.  If you're interested in volunteering then head to the Students' Union from 10am-3pm more more information.

Wednesday 8th October - SCA Induction Talk and Social

If you liked what you saw during Freshers' Week, the Induction Talk is a chance to have a closer look at the ins and outs of volunteering through SCA, chat to the committee and other staff members, and even sign up!  There will be information about the opportunities available, ways you can receive accrediation for your time and effort, and information about CRB police checks.

The talk is at 6:30pm in the Uniplex, on level 3 of the main Students' Union building, and will be followed by a buffet dinner (FREE!) and a social, destination Oceana!  Oceana is the brand-new superclub in Southampton, and Wednesday night is their student night, Get Lost. The SCA Committee will be heading down there after a few drinks in the Stag's Head, so come along and get to know everyone! Bring friends, partners, housemates...the more the merrier!
